For registered disabled users on the kerb to bus, you may travel anywhere within Clackmannanshire. Due to the operating area it is not possible to accommodate external journeys. However in exceptional circumstances and where capacity allows, you may be able to request this on an ad-hoc basis, but this in not guaranteed and will not be confirmed until the day before. These requests should be done two weeks in advance by emailing ptu@clacks.gov.uk.
If you wish to travel outwith the local area, you can also use the service to access Alloa railway station or any local buses.
For DRT journeys, you will be provided with a connection to a designated hub where you can access local services and onward travel by regular bus services. You cannot request transport beyond your designated hub.
We are currently looking at the communities in Clackmannanshire that are not on any local bus route. We expect to have further information on the roll out of the DRT in the autumn. The service will generally only operate on a fixed route, from the community with no local bus to the closest adjacent town or village in Clackmannanshire with local services and onward bus connections.
Further information on the DRT will be made available shortly.
This is a new way of operating a flexible bus service in Clackmannanshire. Our priority is to transition existing D2D users onto the new service initially. This will enable us to test out the new booking arrangement and allow the operator to get familiar with the flexible operating arrangement. The booking office also does not have the required capacity over the summer to manage higher booking numbers. We are aiming to start discussions with some communities over the summer in order to roll the DRT out in autumn.
The service operates Monday to Friday, generally from 9.30am-4.30pm. In exceptional circumstances there may be the occasion where a journey outwith these hours could be accommodated but this requires prior approval from the council. Any requests must be made by e-mailing ptu@clacks.gov.uk at least a week before the journey is required. No journeys can be requested, as an exception, before 0800 or after 1800.
The service does not operate on Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Hogmanay, New Years Day and 2 January.
