Wee County Bus

Blairlogie bridge works affecting Menstrie public transport, 20 October - 27 November: Due to bridge works by Stirling Council at Blairlogie, the 52 service will be diverted via the A907, B9140 Tullibody bypass and Tullibody Road to Alva. As a result, Midland Bluebird bus service 52 will be unable to serve Menstrie during the above dates. 

During the diversion, the Wee County Bus (WCB) will operate for Menstrie residents Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm. Outwith these hours residents will need to make alternative arrangements. 

The WCB will provide a shuttle connection between bus stops on the A91 within Menstrie and bus stops on Tullibody Road where passengers can connect with the diverted 52 service. Journeys must be booked at least a day in advance, and while every effort will be made to accommodate requests, not all bookings can be guaranteed. Passengers may travel free of charge on the shuttle service. 

The Wee County Bus is a new flexible fully accessible bus service, aiming to connect local people with local services and onward journeys by regular bus services.

This new service aims to assist

  • local disabled people who cannot use regular bus services
  • communities with no access to local bus services (demand responsive transport or DRT)
    • This service runs on the A91 between Dollar and Muckhart with pick up and drop off from any safe place on the route

The bus service will be shared with both user groups and must be booked in advance. At times we may use the bus for other purposes.

The service will operate with a small bus with low floor access 9.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday. 

It will not follow a traditional bus timetable, but will offer a mix of flexible transport journeys and enable the council to pilot different bus based journeys.  As the bus is fully flexible, the council can also use the bus to provide other transport solutions, such as shuttle buses during emergency closures.

Coalsnaughton service

A shuttle bus will operate between Coalsnaughton at The Burns Club and Fishcross Primary School, Monday to Friday, until 31 March 2027.
