If you are an existing member of the old D2D service, you will automatically be moved onto the new service, unless you have specifically asked us not to do so via our data protection protocol. If you have a disability and meet the eligibility criteria, you can join by filling in a new application.
Applications generally take around 8 weeks to process. Due to this being a new service, we are temporarily pausing new applications, to enable us to upload a new application form, so you may find that the above link does not work. Please keep checking back, we hope to have this available shortly.
For kerb to bus, please refer to the eligibility criteria.
For DRT you do not need to register, you may book between any designated community and its associated hub point.
If you have your NEC and it does not work, due to it being damaged you will be required to pay the full fare or surrender your card in exchange for a 7 day pass. To renew or replace you card, follow the link for more information.
Further information on the NEC can be found by following the link.
Disabled users under the kerb to bus arrangement will need to renew their membership at least 8 weeks prior to the expiry of their card. The council will not send out reminders, it is therefore the responsibility of the users to ensure they have allowed enough time to apply to renew their membership.
DRT users do not have to be members.
If you meet the eligibility criteria for a Disabled Persons NEC, you will likely meet the criteria for the kerb to bus service, however you still need to apply to join the scheme.
If you are a disabled person who just wants to access the DRT service, and do not require a kerb pick up near your home, then you do not need to be a member of the kerb to bus scheme. You can still use your NEC to travel for free.
No, the Wee County Bus is not designed to replace use of regular local bus services.
We encourage local disabled people to use local buses as far as possible to ensure the Wee County Bus remains available for those most in need. All our local bus services are fully accessible to disabled people.
The Wee County Bus journey times will be longer due to the need to divert to pick up passengers along the route. Journey times will also vary from day to day depending on the bookings.
