This section covers other customer standards and outcomes.

To meet the standard for our Gypsy/Traveller customers we manage the sites so that they are well maintained and meet the minimum site standards set in Scottish Government guidance. All the standards and outcomes in the Charter apply to Gypsy/Travellers.

Clackmannanshire Council successfully secured Scottish Government funding for the redevelopment of the Westhaugh Gypsy/Traveller Site. The site closed in October 2022 once residents were decanted into mainstream tenancies within our stock portfolio.

Due to ongoing issues with contractors, there have been major setbacks and unexpected delays to the project. Our intention is to progress with the return to the development works on the site early in 2025 and complete the works within the same calendar year. Discussions with the relevant partners are ongoing with a view to enabling this.

We understand that this is a difficult time for the residents and that they are keen to get back on site as soon as practicably possible. We continue to regularly engage with our Gypsy/Traveller community by setting up regular meetings and providing updates on the development of the site. Our Gypsy/Traveller liaison officer is working together with MECCOP to offer direct practical and emotional support to our residents.

Whilst we acknowledge the unfortunate delays have caused significant distress to our Gypsy/Traveller customers, upon the completion of the newly developed site we hope to offer our residents a better built environment with improved living conditions which are tailored to their specific needs.
