Plasterboard

Following recent restictions to the way in which we can accept plasterboard for disposal,users are asked to;

a. Restrict the amount of material brought in on each visit to the equivalent of one standard board or less.

b. Remove material from bags/containers when disposing of the waste.

Please note we cannot accept soil and rubble from commercial customers.

Soil and rubble

Please note that we can only accept soil or rubble in small quantities only (up to 7 pails/plastic containers), without an appointment. This includes slabs, tiles, stones, toilet cisterns, ceramics, etc.

Only one visit per day to deposit soil and rubble is permitted.

Visitors must be able to manually handle these containers safely. Site staff will request to view any such material prior to site entry.

To dispose of larger amounts of soil or rubble, please e-mail forthbank@clack.gov.uk with:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your vehicle registration (or name of company if vehicle is hired)
  • A decription of the waste  type and volume

Requests are responded to Monday to Friday, and you will be provided with an appointment date and time.

NB -For larger household projects generating a lot of soil or rubble you may wish to consider hiring a skip to make disposal easier.

Please note we cannot accept plaserboard from commercial customers.

Our standard weight restriction (3.5 tonnes gross) will apply to your vehicle. This limit includes any trailers attached to the vehicle plus any occupants of the vehicle, and may be enforced through the use of our weighbridge.

In addition to the recycling facilities there is also a skip for waste that can't currently be recycled. This waste is sent for incineration.

Waste not accepted

The following is not accepted:

  • Asbestos Waste
  • Gas bottles (from Commercial users)
  • General builders' waste
  • Industrial waste from construction, demolition, excavation, alteration or repair work

Commercial waste

Forthbank can accept some types of commercial waste. A prepayment system is in operation and must be used on every occasion. Please consult the Commercial Waste Charges page for more information.

The council is bound by national laws about accepting waste from commercial customers.

Please note that access will only be available to businesses registered/based and operating within Clackmannanshire.

If you transport controlled waste within the UK in the course of your business, you must register with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

Compost

Please note that supplies of compost are no longer available at the site. This follows a change in the  arrangements between Stirling Council, who previously provided the compost, and their new processing contractor.
