Service specifics

Equipment includes:

• Bathing and toileting equipment 
• Specialist chairs/seating support 
• Daily living aids 
• Moving and handling equipment 
• Equipment to assist with sensory impairment 
• Technology Enabled Care

Recycling/returns 

Unused equipment can be returned/collected for recycling and reuse where safe to do so at our equipment store at Kelliebank (full address at the bottom of this page) or at Forthbank Recycling Centre.

Returned items are subject to appropriate infection control processes, inspection, and safety checks before being reissued where suitable.  

Opening hours

Our equipment provision service at Kelliebank is open as follows:

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays: 9am-12noon and 2.30-4pm
• Thursdays: Closed
• Friday: 9am-12noon

An alternate drop off point is also available at JLES, Unit 9, Westmains Industrial estate, Grangemouth FK2 7XU.

Mobility aids/wheelchairs

Adult Social Care are unable to provide wheelchairs directly. 

Wheelchair provision should be explored through GP referral routes or hospital referral pathways where appropriate. 

Technology enabled care

The Mobile Emergency Care Service (MECS) can provide solutions to support safer living at home following assessment.

Process

The equipment process:

• Contact/referral
  • You, a family member, carer, or professional can contact Adult Social Care
• Assessment
  • A home assessment is carried out by the assessment and care management team or an occupational therapist
• Equipment arranged
  • Appropriate equipment is identified and arranged based on assessed need
• Loaned Equipment
  • Equipment is normally provided on a loan basis for as long as it is required. Where applicable, equipment will be inspected, maintained, and serviced appropriately through contracted providers
• Review
  • Needs may be reviewed if circumstances change
• Return/collection
  • When equipment is no longer required, collection or uplift can be arranged
