Clacks Keys is a youth led campaign on mental health and wellbeing. It is delivered in partnership with Clackmannanshire Family Wellbeing Partnership, NSPCC Scotland and young people from Alloa Academy.
The campaign aims to empower young people to have conversations about their mental health and wellbeing and to reach out for support if needed.
Furthermore, the campaign aims to encourage adults to speak to young people about these subjects.
The young people involved have produced a range of resources which can be accessed in digital form or you can order printed copies by emailing ScotlandCampaigns@NSPCC.org.uk.
Mental health involves discussing our thoughts and feelings, which can be positive or negative. It's affected by lots of different things, such as sleep, friendship or relationships, taking on too many responsibilities and not getting enough time to yourself to relax. By taking control of some aspects of your life, you can improve your mental health.
Mental health is about daily wellbeing, not just during tough times. It can affect how you feel mentally, and physically, impacting your day-to-day life, either positively or negatively. Looking out and caring for yourself, every day can help you feel your best and make it easier to handle life when things feel tougher (Childline, 2025).
If you are a young person who is feeling worried or upset, there are people you can talk to. You can speak to a trusted adult or contact one of the services below.
If you are a parent or carer with concerns about a child, you can call the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000.
