Clackmannanshire Council is committed to supporting serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, reservists and their families.
We have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, which recognises the contribution made by the Armed Forces community and aims to ensure that no member of that community is disadvantaged because of their service.

Our housing allocation policy recognises the circumstances of ex-service personnel and aims to ensure that people returning to Clackmannanshire after service are not disadvantaged because of their service.

Poppyscotland
Poppyscotland provides practical support to veterans and their families across Scotland. This can include help with money, housing, employment and independent living.
Health and wellbeing
Veterans First Point
Veterans First Point is an NHS veteran-led service providing support to veterans across Scotland.
Support can include help with mental health and wellbeing, practical problems, social support and finding other services.
NHS Forth Valley
NHS Forth Valley provides healthcare services for people living in Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling.
Veterans and members of the Armed Forces community can access NHS services in the same way as other residents.

Sight Scotland Veterans
Sight Scotland Veterans provides free support to veterans experiencing sight loss or visual impairment.
Support includes practical advice, rehabilitation, social opportunities and help with maintaining independence.

Combat Stress provides specialist mental health support for veterans.

Career Transition Partnership
The Career Transition Partnership is the official resettlement service for Armed Forces personnel leaving service.
It provides career advice, training, resettlement support and employment opportunities for people moving from military service into civilian employment, further education or retirement.
The service is available to eligible service leavers before and after leaving the Armed Forces.

Veteran Card
The HM Armed Forces Veteran Card can be used to prove that you have served in the Armed Forces.
The card is free to apply for through GOV.UK.

Help for Heroes supports veterans and serving personnel who have been wounded, injured or become sick as a result of their service, as well as their families.

Our commitment to the Armed Forces community
Clackmannanshire Council is committed to recognising the contribution made by serving personnel, reservists, veterans, military families and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.
The Council entered into the Armed Forces Community Covenant in 2012 and continues to work with partners to support the Armed Forces community in Clackmannanshire.
In 2025, Clackmannanshire Council received the Silver Award under the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, recognising its support for the Armed Forces community as an employer.
