Culture and Heritage - Sponsor's Voice

April - Culture and Heritage

This month's Sponsor's Voice theme is Culture and Heritage and focuses on the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal and in particular The Japanese Garden at Cowden

The City Region Deal is a ten year investment by the Scottish Government, UK Government, Stirling Council, Clackmannanshire Council and the University of Stirling of £214 million. This investment will be used in projects to support economic development in Stirling and Clackmannanshire.

The Japanese Garden at Cowden, received £750,000 of City Region Deal funding to support the development of the garden and bring benefits to local communities.

The Sponsor's Voice and Council Leader Ellen Forson, said: "I am pleased that this important local landmark has received £750,000 of support to regenerate and revitalise the offer at the Japanese Gardens."

"It is vital that in future years, the opportunities for local businesses and citizens are maximised, to ensure that the Japanese Garden, continues to be a jewel in Clackmannanshire’s crown that benefits all our communities."

We invited Emma Fyvie the Senior Manager (Development) at Clackmannanshire Council and Nicola Dibley the Outreach and Education Officer at The Japanese Garden at Cowden, to take part in the Sponsor's Voice podcast to give an overview of the City Region Deal and what the investment means to The Japanese Garden at Cowden.
