The school values the resources and expertise in the wider community and when at all possible we extend the learning environment to the wider community - garden centre, local shops, and Gartmorn Dam.
Children with additional needs are included in the school community with access to specialist support from associated agencies including Psychological Services, Social Services, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, health visitors, specialised teachers for hearing and visually impaired.
Families may borrow a range of resources for use in the home. These include story sacks, discovery boxes, lending library and physical activity back packs. Staff have developed all of these to further expand opportunities for families to share in the children's learning.
The school has excellent outdoor facilities providing for the children's physical development and environmental awareness. We are also involved in the pre-five active start programme of physical activities.
We currently hold the ECO schools silver award level and are in the process of applying for full green flag accreditation.
We have also been accredited an enhanced Level 2 Health Promoting School and we are an accredited Cooksafe Nursery.
A full programme of teeth brushing is in place in conjunction with the promotion of dental hygiene and we are involved in the extended Childsmile programme.
