Help with heating and insulation

Government financial support to help cover additional energy costs

To prepare for October, the following financial support to help cover additional energy costs will be provided as follows: 

A £400 one off grant will be given to ALL households in the UK to be put towards your energy bills from October.

For those who are currently in receipt of benefits you will receive a one off direct payment of £650, split into 2 instalments (July and autumn).

For pensioners, a direct one off payment of £200-£300 will be given as part of annual Winter Fuel Payments in November/December.

For those currently in receipt of disability benefits a direct one-off payment of £150 which will be made in September.

Help through Home Energy Scotland

The Energy Saving Trust in Scotland gives independent and impartial energy advice and allows you to access help through the Scottish Government's Home Energy Efficiency Programmes for Scotland (sometimes known as HEEPS).
