Energy efficiency measures

What's on offer

Energy Efficient Scotland: Area Based Scheme is funded by the Scottish Government. This scheme is designed to make your home warmer, whilst also reducing your bills, by installing a range of energy efficiency improvements, such as solar panels and batteries, loft insulation and some forms of wall insulation.

This scheme is currently targeting areas in Alloa, Alva and Tullibody, however homes outside of this area may also be eligible for inclusion. If you would like to enquire about your eligibility for this scheme please call 01259 450000 or email: fuelenergyadvice@clacks.gov.uk.

ECO4

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a energy efficiency scheme devised by the UK Government to help tackle fuel poverty. Recent changes to this (known as ‘Flexible Eligibility’) have allowed local councils to set criteria to assist those who are struggling with energy bills or who (because of health issues) are vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home.

The accompanying document outlines our Statement of Intent in relation to accessing ECO Flexible Eligibility funding and identifying households which can have energy efficiency improvements installed under this scheme.

Warmer Homes Scotland

Warmer Homes Scotland (WHS) is the Scottish Governments national fuel poverty scheme, designed to improve the energy efficiency of eligible homes in Scotland. This is achieved through the installation of various energy efficiency improvements, such as insulation and heating. If you would like to enquire about this scheme please contact Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282 to discuss your eligibility.

Home Energy Scotland grant and loan

The grant and loan scheme is provided by Home Energy Scotland, and can be used to fund a variety of energy efficiency improvements. The level of funding depends on the specific circumstances of the applicant and the improvements they are looking to install.

For further details on this scheme contact Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282.

Private rented sector loan

This loan is available to registered private sector landlords, and is intended for use in installing various energy efficiency improvements in their properties.

The maximum level of funding available per property is £38,500, which can be used to fund the installation of insulation and renewable heating systems such as heat pumps.
