Certain illnesses and diseases are required to be notified to Environmental Health by the Health Board. These include illnesses such as food poisoning, E Coli, Legionnaires Disease, Typhoid and many others.
Environmental Health Officers may then contact you to investigate how you may have contracted the illness. As these diseases can spread rapidly through the community it is important that measures are taken to minimise the risk to others, which includes trying to discover the source of the illness.
We therefore work closely with Forth Valley Health Board to investigate these illnesses.
Remember that your doctor is the person to discuss your treatment with.
