For the Scottish Parliamentary election, voters have two votes, the first is to elect their constituency MSP (the candidate with the most votes gets elected - first past the post voting method) and a second vote to elect seven regional MSPs for the Mid Scotland and Fife Region from party lists. This second vote is counted using a system of proportional representation.
The Constituency Returning Officer is responsible for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane Constituency which covers the whole of Clackmannanshire and a portion of Stirling Council (Bridge of Allan and Dunblane).
The Constituency Returning Officer is responsible for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane Constituency which covers the whole of Clackmannanshire Council area and a portion of Stirlingshire (Ward 3). This includes areas like Blairlogie, Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Kinbuck and Stirling University.
The Scottish Parliament uses a type of proportional representation called the Additional Member System (AMS).
