Our library service provides computers with free access to the internet for all. Computers and software are available in Alloa library at the Speirs Centre.

Pay us a visit and take advantage of all that’s on offer. Learn online, surf the net or simply email a friend - all for free.

How do I use the service?

To use the computers and wifi in our library you have to become a member of the service. To join:

• Visit Alloa library
  • Computers are complete with 19" monitors and offer in built accessibility tools including magnifier, text to speech etc.
• Take a form of identification with you that shows your name and current address, for example a driving licence. Alternatively, take a bank statement or utilities bill along with a bank or ID card.
• You will then be provided with a library card and can start using the service right away.

What does the service provide and how much does it cost?

Internet access, word processing and email facilities are completely free. A small charge is made for paper print-outs.

Will there be anyone to help me?

CTSi digital champion volunteers are available in the library who can help you with your computer or tablet. They can also answer questions about emails, CVs and attachments.

Is the service only for adults?

No, it’s for everyone. Our computers provide safe online fun and learning for children. Children under 11 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Do I need to book in advance?

No. Our electronic booking system allows bookings to be made for any PC. You may of course just visit the library. Once you have registered as a user you may book any PC which happens to be free at the time.
