Notice of Election for Scottish Parliamentary Election 2026

Clackmannanshire and Dunblane Constituency

An election is to be held for a Constituency Member to serve in the Scottish Parliament for the Clackmannanshire and Dunblane Constituency.

If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026 between 7am and 10pm.

Standing for Election - Nominations

Nomination papers can be obtained from and delivered to the Constituency Returning Officer at the following place and at the following dates and times:

First delivery permitted:

  • 10am, Tuesday 17 March 2026

Delivery permitted:

  • Between 10am and 4pm on any working day until the deadline given below

Deadline for delivery of nomination papers:

  • 4pm, Wednesday 1 April 2026

A person shall not be validly nominated as a candidate unless the sum of £500 is deposited by, or on behalf of, that person with the Constituency Returning Officer at the place and during the time for delivery of nomination papers. The deposit may be paid by legal tender, banker’s draft from a UK Bank, debit/credit card or by BACS.

Applications for Registration, Postal and Proxy Voting

Applications to be included on the register of electors or for postal or proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the following address by the dates given below.

  • 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026

Cancel or alter postal and proxy votes, or to change from postal to proxy voting

  • 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026

New proxy vote applications

  • 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026

If, after 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026, you are unable to vote in person because you

  • disability suffered after that deadline (or, for applicants who suffered a disability before the deadline, their disability meant that they could not reasonably have made an application in time)
  • the need to accompany an individual to attend medical care or treatment arising after that deadline
  • being detained in a hospital under the civil sections of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 arising after that deadline
  • work/service reasons arising after that deadline
  • Scottish prisoners serving a sentence of 12 months or less arising after that deadline
  • circumstances that mean the appointed proxy cannot reasonably be expected to vote in person at the polling station arising after that deadline

You can apply to vote by proxy. Completed applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 7 May 2026
