How are Planning Applications publicised?

Although the Council is not obliged to advertise every application received in the local press, there are certain applications where this is a requirement.  These can include:

  • Applications for Listed Building Consent and/or Affecting the Setting of a Listed Building
  • Conservation Area Consent
  • Major Applications
  • Class of Development Which Requires to be Advertised
  • Contrary to Development Plan
  • Neighbour Notification (Adjoining Land With no Premises)

The above list is not exhaustive and the current fee (where applicable) is £127.00.  If you require further details, please contact the Planning team

These adverts are placed in the local press (Alloa Advertiser), the Edinburgh Gazette (when applicable) and will be included in the Planning and Building Standards weekly bulletin.  They will include the period when representations can be made.

Details of all applications, irrespective of the need to advertisecan be accessed online at any time via the ePlanning Online Planning Information System.
