The Council as Planning Authority may issue enforcement notices when unauthorised development or change of use of land or buildings has taken place. Where planning permission has been granted subject to planning conditions, enforcement action may be taken when conditions have been breached. Enforcement action may also be used in circumstances where unauthorised advertisements have been displayed, where the appearance or condition of land is adversely affecting amenity, or when unauthorised works have been undertaken to a listed building. To comply with the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997, the Council is obliged to keep a register of formal notices served for an indefinite period. The full Planning Enforcement register can be viewed at Kilncraigs, Greenside Street, Alloa, FK10 1EB during normal office hours.
