In the case of most householder type applications, and less complex major applications, the Council has delegated these decisions to the Development Quality Manager as an Appointed Officer under the Council's Scheme of Delegation

Major applications, applications which depart from the Development Plan or those where multiple valid objections have been received are referred to the Planning Committee. The Committee normally meets once per month and a list of dates can be found here.

The Planning legislation provides that all planning applications must be determined in accordance with the development plan unless material considerations indicate otherwise.

Following a decision being taken, the applicant and objectors will receive a copy of the Decision Notice as soon as possible thereafter.
