When applications are submitted late, please be aware that this can restrict the availability of space and choice of establishment.
Please upload a copy of your child's birth certificate and proof of address to your online application. Your application will not be accepted if you are unable to provide these documents.
If you require support to fill the application form, please ask at any funded establishment where they will be happy to assist.

2025/26 is for a place from now until August 2026.
2026/27 is for a place from August 2026 onwards.
Note that if you already have a funded 1140 place in one of our ELC settings, you do not need to reapply. Please discuss with your ELC setting directly if you need to.
Early learning and childcare place applications for all local authority settings, partner childminders and partner nurseries must be completed via our online form link provided below.
All children have an entitlement of 1140 hours per year. Children become eligible for a funded place from the term after their 3rd birthday. This entitlement continues until the child is of school age.
This entitlement means an early learning and childcare place of 6 hours a day over 38 weeks (term time place) in a local ELC setting, partnership nursery provider or with a childminder.
Some of our local authority settings also offer your funded hours spread over the full year. The settings are Park ELC, Tulach ELC, Sauchie ELC and Menstrie ELC.

Partner ELCs and some childminders can also offer funded hours spread over the full year. You need to contact them directly to find out the session options they offer.
There is currently no option to pay for additional hours/sessions in our local authority settings.
There are no catchment areas for nursery places. Placements are allocated dependent on availability. Every effort will be made to accommodate your first choice request.

You will receive a confirmation email via the ELC admissions portal within 6-8 weeks of applying. Every effort will be made to allocate your first choice of ELC establishment although this may not always be possible.
If a partner provider ELC or childminder is your first choice, please contact the establishment before filling in an online application form.
