Child's Plan

If your child is on stage 3 or 4 of the staged intervention process, they will have a Child’s Plan. This is an individualised education plan specific to your child. 

Sometimes you might hear the term Individualised Education Plan (IEP), this is the Child’s Plan.

You, your child and any professionals involved with your child will be involved in developing the Child’s Plan and the plan will be reviewed at Team Around the Child meetings. 

The Child’s Plan will detail your child’s strengths and any areas that they need support with. The Child’s Plan will also include education targets, that are often referred to as SMART targets, which stands for:

• Specific – to your child
• Measurable – so progress can be tracked
• Achievable – they should be something that your child will be able to do
• Realistic – they should be possible
• Timed – they should have a time frame to be completed
