Full construction of the Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School is underway at the Pavilions site in Alloa. The flagship project remains on track for opening in Autumn 2027.
The £76m project will deliver state of the art health, wellbeing and educational facilities on an inclusive, accessible and inspiring shared campus.
The Wellbeing Hub will feature a blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, including swimming pools, fitness suites, multipurpose rooms, sports hall and five-a-side pitch, as well as a café, consultation, meeting and conference spaces and a range of accessible indoor and outdoor social spaces.
An extensive programme of health, wellbeing and leisure activities will be developed, delivering health services, swim lessons, youth activities, older adults programmes, sports activities, holiday programmes and more.
The Wellbeing Hub has been supported by nearly £1m in funding from sportscotland.
The new Lochies School will provide state of the art facilities for learners with severe and complex needs. The school development has been successful in being granted 50% of the costs through the Scottish Government Learning Estate Investment Programme.
The large parkland on the site will offer a range of specifically designed spaces to support individuals with their physical and mental health, such as areas for rest, socialising and informal and organised exercise and will connect to existing paths and active travel routes.
The Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School will also be one of the first large scale community facilities in Scotland to be built to Passivhaus standards, significantly reducing operational energy costs and carbon emissions.
The project reflects the Council's commitment to transformation and to achieving Net Zero by 2040.
With construction now fully underway, the Council and its partners are well on track to deliver a landmark facility in Clackmannanshire for current and future generations.
