Business IconThe council is committed to supporting local businesses to help them develop and grow and, along with other organisations operating across Clackmannanshire, offer a range of free, independent advice and guidance on starting up a business and providing support to existing businesses.

Find Business Support

FindBusinessSupport.gov.scot directs your business to Scotland’s public sector support. It gives customers an overview of all funding and services offered by public sector organisations across Scotland. This makes it quicker and easier for businesses to find the information, advice and support they need, when they need it.
 
Information is available for businesses of all sizes – from start-ups to established companies, from sole traders to large enterprises, from commercial businesses to social enterprises.

Business Gateway

The Business Gateway service in Clackmannanshire is delivered by Ceteris on behalf of Clackmannanshire Council.

Business Gateway provides free information, advice and guidance to individuals wishing to start their own business or develop their existing business.

Expert Help Programme

Our Expert Help scheme allows businesses (and third sector organisations) to get fully funded support from a specialist to help them grow and develop their business. 

Businesses located in Clackmannanshire can receive up to 3 days of fully funded support, plus advice from experienced, qualified, professional experts. 

Support is available on the following topics:

  • Marketing (including digital marketing)
  • IT
  • Finance and business planning
  • Procurement
  • HR and legal support
  • Strategy support (including support for international strategy)
  • Innovation

Clackmannanshire Works

Supports local businesses by providing help with recruitment and training of staff etc. The service also provides access to tendering training through the Supplier Development Programme.

Scottish Enterprise

Scottish Enterprise work with businesses across Scotland to stimulate economic growth and improve the business environment. Through their account management programme, they work with companies to understand the business issues they are facing and then help them to develop solutions or opportunities for their business.

Federation of Small Businesses

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is the UK's largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small businesses. FSB provide a wide range of business services to members of the FSB.

Alloa First

Alloa First is a business led initiative where businesses work together with the sole objective of collectively investing in the town centre with the aim of creating a brighter future for the business environment.

Clacksfirst Ltd

This is the Business Improvement District (BID) which covers 10 business parks throughout Clackmannanshire. The Clacksfirst BID works collectively with occupiers, property owners and key partners locally to develop initiatives that will create a safer, cleaner and more attractive business working and trading environment.
