The Muckhart conservation area was designated in 2005. It is based on the spine of the A91 through the settlement and extends from the church and churchyard in the east to the Coronation Hall in the west. The conservation area forms the historic core of the settlement and excludes 'modern' development that have extended the settlement to the north, south and west of the A91. The area is characterised by traditional cottages with the important public buildings of the Parish Church and the Coronation Hall providing visual high points on the extremities of the conservation area.
