Early learning and childcare place applications for all local authority settings, partner childminders and partner nurseries must be completed via our online form link provided below.
Please be aware there are limited spaces for some Early Learning and Childcare establishments, however, there is an option to place your child’s name on the waiting list of your preferred establishment.
The application window for eligible 2s for session 2026/26 has reopened for late applications.
Eligible birth dates for session 2025/26
Children born between 1/3/23-28/2/24: Eligible 2 year olds start the term after their 2nd birthday, ie August 2025, January 2026 or April 2026 unless in kinship care or looked after when they start as soon as possible after their 2nd birthday.

You must upload a copy of your child's birth certificate and proof of address to your online application. You also need to upload proof of eligibility to your online application. Your application will not be accepted if you are unable to provide these documents.
When applications are submitted late, please be aware that this can restrict the availability of space and choice of establishment.
Session options are term time or full year.
Term time is Monday to Friday (6 hours per day)

2025/26 is for a place from now until August 2026.
2026/27 is for a place from August 2026 onwards.
Note that if you already have a funded 1140 place in one of our ELC settings, you do not need to reapply. Please discuss with your ELC setting directly if you need to.

You will receive a confirmation email via the ELC admissions portal within 6-8 weeks of applying. Every effort will be made to allocate your first choice of ELC establishment although this may not always be possible.
If a partner provider ELC or childminder is your first choice, please contact the establishment before filling in the online form.
