Fuel Bank Foundation Voucher
If you use a prepayment meter for gas or electricity and are in fuel crisis, you may be able to get help through the Fuel Bank Foundation Voucher scheme, which you can apply for via Clackmannanshire Council.
What you’ll receive
- From 1 November 2025, each successful application is worth £73 - this is split into two separate vouchers, £49 and £24 respectively.
- The first voucher will be issued on the day of the approved application.
- The second voucher will be issued the following working day.
- The total voucher value is reviewed monthly.
- The vouchers are designed to provide around 13 days of energy based on typical usage at that time.
- The value is reviewed and updated on the first working day of each month.
- Vouchers are normally issued within 24 hours of approval and are valid for 30 days.
- Redeem at PayPoint outlets. For British Gas or Scottish Gas, redeem at a Post Office.
Who can apply
- You have a prepayment gas and/or electricity meter.
- You are experiencing a fuel crisis (for example, unable to afford a top-up or at risk of disconnection).
- You live in Clackmannanshire.

How to apply
You can apply for a Fuel Voucher a number of ways:
Once approved, your voucher will be sent by text or email with instructions.
How to redeem your voucher
- Take the voucher code to a shop with a PayPoint terminal (or a Post Office for British/Scottish Gas).
- Bring your prepayment card or key. ID may be requested by the retailer.
- You can allocate the full amount to gas or electricity, or split it between both.
- Keep the receipt until the top-up appears on your meter.
