Governance services
Staff in the Council's Governance team provide a legal service to the Council and all of its services. They also provide the internal coordination and management service the Council requires in order to meet its responsibilities as an organisation in relation to functions such as Data Protection, Freedom of Information and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (RIPSA).
Governance team staff provide the key support required by the local Returning Officer to deliver all elections in the area.
Registration services
Customer Services manage the Registration Service which deals with births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, family history searches and ceremonies relating to citizenship, commitment and child naming.
Licensing
Community & Regulatory Services are responsible for licensing many activities. Information about licences, permits and approvals required can be found on our Licensing page. You can now apply online for most licences.
