Taxi Fares

Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982

The undernoted taxi fares will apply during the times and for the periods specified for all journeys.

Basic charges

First 587 yards (4/12th of 1 mile) or part thereof	£3.50
Each 147 yards (1/12th of a mile) thereafter	25p
Distance over 12 miles to be subject of special agreement	-

Tariff changes

Description	Cost
Tariff 2 - late night hires For hirings between 11pm and 7am	+33⅓%
Tariff 2 - public holidays For hiring between 11pm on the day preceding the undernoted public holidays and 11pm on the day of that public holiday (Public holidays to which this increase applies are Easter Monday, May Day, Alloa Fair, 1 September holiday Monday)	+33⅓%
Tariff 3 - festive period For hirings between 00.01am on 24 December and 6am on 27 December and between 00.01 am on 31 December and 6am on 3 January	+50%

Other fees and extra charges

Description	Cost
Cancellation Fee Where taxi is booked but not used unless cancellation intimated at least 1 hour prior to agreed time, cancellation fee to the value of fare or up to	£14 max
Soiling charge - up to a maximum of	£120
Additional passengers (per passenger)	+0.25p
Use of luggage compartment	+0.25p

Note:

• The above fares are applicable for all journeys within Clackmannanshire.
• No additional passenger charge will be levied for children under 12 travelling with an adult, or for carer of the main passenger being carried.
• No luggage charge will be levied for wheelchairs, walking aids and prams or pushchairs for use along with one of the passengers to be carried.

Taxis (red licence plate)

A taxi can either be pre-booked, hailed in the street or at a rank. The vehicle will have an illuminated sign on the roof.

Overcharging: In the event of any alleged incident of overcharging involving a taxi, members of the public are invited to pass full details to the Licensing Team for investigation - see contact details below.

Private Hire Vehicles (yellow plate)

A private hire vehicle can only be pre-booked and cannot be hailed from the street. These vehicles have a yellow plate on the rear and front of the vehicle.

Please note that the fares noted above do not apply to private hire vehicles which are subject to agreement prior to the commencement of the journey.
