Autism Spectrum Disorder Outreach Team

The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Team is a local resource which works flexibly with educational establishments within Clackmannanshire and is based at Tillicoultry Primary School.

Aim of the service

The aim of the service is to support the inclusion of children with ASD in mainstream early years, primary and secondary establishments.

The team provides support to children/young people who are at Stage 3 or Stage 4 of the Staged Intervention process, collaborating with school staff and other professionals involved with the child to identify and plan to meet their needs through an individualised education plan or Child’s Plan.

Who does the ASD Outreach Team work with?

The ASD Outreach Team support the inclusion of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD type difficulties agreed by members of the Team Around the Child.  Support can be within their mainstream Early Learning Centres (ELCs) and schools or for children younger than ELC age, home visits can be offered.

Support may be direct support to the child or support to the establishment staff through support with identifying strategies, resources, adapting/differentiating materials or training.

Referral to the service is made by the child/young person’s school or ELC using the Council’s Staged Intervention Process.
