Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme
Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme
The Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) Scheme
- helps to ensure that those who have regular contact with children and protected adults through paid and unpaid work do not have a known history of harmful behaviour,
- is quick and easy to use, reduces the need for PVG Scheme members to complete a detailed application form every time a disclosure check is required,
- strikes a balance between proportionate protection and robust regulation, and makes it easier for employers to determine who they should check to protect their client group.
The scheme only applies to people who work, paid or unpaid, with children and protected adults and it does not apply to parents helping their children or personal arrangements that parents make with friends and family to look after their children.
