Licence - Extended Hours
The licensing Scotland Act, 2005, Section 68
Extended hours applications
The appropriate Licensing Board (the Board) may on the application of the holder of the premises licence in respect of any licensed premises, and if the Board consider it appropriate to do so in connection with:
(i) a special event or occasion to be catered for on the premises, or
(ii) a special event of local or national significance,
extend the licensed hours in respect of the premises by such period as is specified in the application or such other period as the Board consider appropriate.
The Applicant
Only the premises licence holder can make this application.
The Event
The application should contain a clear explanation to identify whether Part (i) or part (ii) above applies to.
The application should detail the additional hours sought, the details of the event, and any information that the applicant would like the Board to take into consideration in determining the application.
Determination of the Application
Every application for Extended Hours must be determined by the Board, who must consider any objections.
The application is sent to the Licensing Standards Officer (LSO) for the area, and the LSO must complete a report for the benefit of the Board, and the Board must take the content of the LSO’s report into consideration
Processing Times
An Extended Hours application should be lodged as soon as you know about your event. In any case the application should be lodged at least 42 days prior to the date of the first extended hours period required.

Fees
Fees are set by the Scottish Government and are non-refundable. The current fee is £10.00 for an extended hours application.
