Following requests from Clackmannanshire Councillors, a new shuttle bus service has been launched in Coalsnaughton to link the village to the wider transport network.
The Glen, which is a bus route servicing the village, has had to be closed due to the current major incident in the village.
The new bus service, which will be operated by Wee County Bus, will operate Monday to Friday between Coalsnaughton and Fishcross Primary School three times a day during this summer.
Councillor Scott Harrison, the Council’s spokesperson for Place, said: “We know the closure of The Glen has been incredibly disruptive for people in Coalsnaughton. While the road closure remains essential because of the ongoing emergency, it has left many residents without access to their usual bus services and made everyday journeys much more difficult.
“We’ve been listening to those concerns and alongside our officers, our administration has sought to find a practical solution.
“This pilot service is about helping people reconnect with the wider public transport network and making it easier to get to work, health appointments, shops and other essential services.
“I hope as many people as possible will make use of the service over the summer. The more it is used, the better we can understand the level of demand and how this can support the community while the current restrictions remain in place.”
Buses are being timed to coincide with the 52 bus service in Fishcross so passengers are able to make onward connections.
No pre-booking is required.
Fares are £3.10 (adult) and £1.55 (child) one way. Cash, card and NEC are all accepted.
The Wee County Bus is provided by Hunters Executive Coaches Ltd. This new service will start Monday, 20 July.
