Alva Community Council and Tullibody Cambus & Glenochil Community Council will be welcoming their newly-elected members with immediate effect following the outcome last week of the first stage of interim elections in these two areas.
As the number of nominations received did not exceed the number of vacancies in either community council, both elections were uncontested and the interim election process is now complete.
Provost Tina Murphy said “The new community councillors and their community councils have a challenging time ahead and I applaud them for championing the interests of their communities on behalf of the residents of their respective areas.
“Clackmannanshire Council appreciates the key role Alva Community Council is playing in the ongoing regeneration of their main street and their boost to membership will no doubt help to spread the extensive workload.
“It is especially heartening to see that Tullibody Cambus & Glenochil Community Council will be able to resume all aspects of its work, meaning all of Clackmannanshire’s communities have a fully-operational community council”.
Community Councils are an important channel of communication and means of representation on a wide range of matters which affect their community. They welcome and depend on the voluntary effort of residents. Members of the public can attend their meetings to observe proceedings.
