Volunteer Countryside Ranger Service

Volunteer Countryside Ranger Service

Please note that at present all positions for Volunteer Rangers are filled. Future vacancies will be advertised on this page when they arise.

We would like to hear from people who are interested in volunteering and who

  • are up to the challenge of encouraging users towards a greater awareness and appreciation of the countryside;
  • can work in partnership with the community to ensure adequate protection of Clackmannanshire’s natural resources;
  • have knowledge of natural history;
  • have good communication and negotiation skills; and
  • are confident working alone.

Our volunteers operate throughout the year assisting the Ranger Service with patrols throughout Clackmannanshire's countryside. They also provide valuable support in helping out with Ranger Service summer events and workdays programme.

Patrols can be carried out in pairs or with a full time ranger. However volunteers can operate alone while carrying out patrols.

Training and equipment

Induction training is given by full time ranger staff.

Volunteers are provided with uniform and equipment to assist them with their task.
