New Wee County Boarder Bus Service Launched

The Council is introducing a number of new bus services from the 24 July throughout the County.The new services, known as the Wee County boarders, will be distinguishable by special liveries and distinctive logos.

The services will mainly be operated by new low floor vehicles allowing easy access for wheelchairs and buggies.The new Wee County Boarders services replace the current Easyboarder and Rural Rider services.

A photocall to unveil the new vehicles will take place on Friday July 8 2005 at Alva Myretoungate, with Provost Derek Stewart. You are invited to send a photographer.

In many areas frequencies have been increased and services operating later and at a more regular time.

Provost Derek Stewart said: "I am delighted that we have been able to get this new service up and running. The flexi service in particular will make life easier for many people in our more outlying areas."

In addition to the regular fixed timetable in the evening the services will divert from these routes to provide a more door to door services.Known as flexi routes these journeys will require to be booked a couple of hours in advance by 'phoning 01383 432343.These services are prefixed by an "F" - such as F66/F67.

The new routes are as follows:

Tullibody - Alloa - Dollar - Muckhart/Forestmill (Daily)

Operated on behalf of Clackmannanshire by Stagecoach in Fife

Journeys from Forestmill will be by pre-booking only.

Cambus - Alloa - Clackmannan (Monday to Saturday)

Operated on behalf of Clackmannanshire Council by WAVE Ltd

Journeys will deviate from their normal route on demand in Tullibody via Muirside, Delphwood, The Braes or Inglewood, in Sauchie via Fairfield or to Forestmill or Muckhart by pre-booking only.

 

Stirling - Tillicoultry - Dollar - Kinross Sunday Market (Sundays)

Connections available at Tillicoultry for Alloa.

 

The Scottish Executive have funded the purchase of a new floor accessible bus for use on fixed and flexible working services.
