After three weeks of trials players from the Forth Valley Football Development League have been selected for the Clackmannanshire Football Development Squads.Players from Claremont Boys Club, Tillicoultry Boys Club and Sauchie Junior Tigers represent the Clackmannanshire squad.

These players will receive weekly training over a 30-week block throughout the season that will complement the coaching they receive at their boys club, developing them as footballers. They will also receive information on healthy eating and fitness programmes.

Matches have also been arranged, with each squad playing two games before Christmas.

Football Development Officer Alan Morgan runs the squads and commented: "The principal aim of the squads is to develop the players and give them the opportunity to progress within the game. Over the last two seasons five squad players have joined local senior clubs. I'm hopeful there are players within these squads that can achieve the same."
