Positive inspection report for St Mungo’s
Tuesday 6th October 2026 | Education
St Mungo’s RC Primary School in Alloa has received a positive report from school inspectors following an inspection visit in August.
The team of HM Inspectors of Education talked to parents/carers and children and worked closely with the headteacher and staff during the inspection.
They found strengths in the school’s work:
• Led ably by senior leaders, staff have created a nurturing and caring ethos which is underpinned by the school and Gospel values. This is leading to positive relationships and a strong sense of community. This helps children feel happy, secure and have positive outcomes.
• Children are welcoming, friendly and are proud of their school. They are very supportive of each other, demonstrate positive behaviour and engage well in learning.
• Senior leaders and staff know children and families well. They use this knowledge effectively to provide appropriate support and help children achieve success in a variety of ways.
• Staff work successfully with a wide range of partners. These partnerships support children well and improve wellbeing, attendance and engagement.
Inspectors evaluated two areas for quality indicators – learning, teaching and assessment, and ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion. Both were evaluated as ‘good’.
Councillor Graham Lindsay, Education Spokesperson, said: “I am very pleased to see this really positive inspection report, which reflects a happy and ambitious school.
“Well done to the staff of St Mungo’s, who I am sure will continue to strive for continued improvements as they deliver positive outcomes for all their pupils.”
