The Council has approved its audited accounts for 2023/24.
At a special meeting of the Council yesterday Councillors also noted the positive report from the independent, external auditors.
The report stated that the Council’s financial statements give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the council, have been properly prepared in accordance with UK adopted international accounting standards and in accordance with legal requirements.
The auditors also noted the Council has effective budget setting and monitoring arrangements in place and appropriate arrangements for Statutory Performance Information (SPI) compliance and public reporting.
The Council was also praised for its sector leading ‘Transformation Through Collaboration’ work with Falkirk and Stirling Councils and the work of the Family Wellbeing Partnership which ‘crucial to developing cross-service working and developing approaches to service delivery for its most vulnerable of citizens
The Council’s Chief Executive Nikki Bridle said: “I am pleased our audited accounts have been approved by Council and with the positive report from the auditors.
“I would like to thank our chief finance officer and her team for all the hard work that goes into preparing and presenting the Council’s financial statement every year against increasingly challenging circumstances.
“I am confident that we will continue to make progress, building on the firm foundations we have established through our Be The Future Transformation Programme and Target Operating Model which has a focus on more integrated service delivery and financial sustainability.”
