Postal Ballot for Dollar Community Council

Dollar residents will soon have a chance to elect their community council.
All 14 places on Dollar Community Council are to be filled through a postal vote inviting electors to choose the people they want to represent their area for the next four years.
While community councillors in six other community council areas have already been elected unopposed, Dollar received more nominations than places available, triggering the ballot.
Ballot papers will soon be dropping though letter boxes and voters are urged to make their choice and return the ballot paper promptly.
Provost Donald Balsillie said: “It is great to see so many people keen to represent their community. Local democracy thrives on high levels of participation and I hope the people of Dollar will wholeheartedly support this ballot and use their power to vote.
“When the last contested community council election took place in 2021, we were still dealing with Covid restrictions and the electorate managed a 24% turnout. I would encourage the electorate in Dollar to all have their say this time around and try to improve on that turnout.”
The deadline for return of ballot papers is 5pm on Thursday, 2 October.
Ballot papers may be returned to the Council via Royal Mail or handed in at Kilncraigs reception in time to meet the deadline.
The count will take place on Friday, 3 October, in Kilncraigs, the Council’s HQ, and the results are expected to be announced later that day.
