An event showcasing the range of mental health support available for young people locally will be held in November.

The showcase will be an opportunity for children and young people, parents/carers and professionals to learn more about the mental health supports that are available for those aged 5-26 years old in Clackmannanshire.

Hosted by the Council’s Educational Psychology Service it will take place in Alloa Town Hall on Friday 25th November from 10am to 3pm.

A range of partner organisations including Wellbeing Scotland, Reachout With Arts in Mind, Inscape Therapies and Kooth will be attending the event to share resources and information about the services they provide as well as providing short workshops across the day.

Councillor Graham Lindsay, spokesperson for Education said: “We know that talking about mental health can sometimes be difficult, but it’s really important that we learn to speak more openly about this subject. We are hopeful that giving people the opportunity to come along in person to find out more about the services we have on offer will help them know where they can turn to if they need support to manage their mental health.”

Further sources of information and support regarding mental health and wellbeing can also be found online.
