The results of the Dollar Community Council postal ballot have been declared and the voters of Dollar have now elected their 14 community councillors.

Residents were invited to vote for up to 14 of the candidates in a ‘first past the post’ election. The 14 who polled the highest number of votes were elected.

The count took place on Friday 29th of October 2021 in the Bowmar Centre, Alloa. The count was conducted by the Council’s Elections Team in the same way and to the same standards as the count for Local Councillors.

Community council elections take place every four years. This is the first contested election in Dollar in recent years. The turnout was 25.4%.

Returning Officer, Nikki Bridle presided over the count.  She said:

”The fact that more candidates put themselves forward than places available makes a strong statement about the commitment of Dollar people to the function of a community council. I thank all candidates for participating in the election process that brought us to this point and I congratulate the duly elected community councillors.”

Full details of the results can be found on Council’s website.
