The residents of Dollar are going to the polls this week to elect their Community Councillors.

A ballot has been triggered because there is a contested election in Dollar for the first time since 2008. The contest is in respect of 14 places on the Community Council and there are 15 candidates. The ballot, which is being conducted entirely by post, will give electors in the area the opportunity to choose the candidates they wish to be elected.

Ballot papers were issued to all electors on Thursday 14th October with the closing date for return being Thursday 28th October.

Provost Tina Murphy said:

“Community Council elections are an important event for any community. The members of the Community Council play a key role in their area and freely give their time to work for and represent the interests of all residents. They also provide a direct link with Clackmannanshire Council on key issues. I am sure that the electors in Dollar will take this opportunity to show their commitment and active support to their Community Council by returning their ballot papers.”

With the exception of Tullibody, Cambus & Glenochil which was not formed, all other Community Council elections were uncontested. A full list of newly elected Community Councillors can be found on the Council Website.
