Clackmannanshire residents are being invited to decide which of the local projects bidding for a share of Community Matters funding are priorities in their areas over the coming weeks.

Community councils have organised events where members of the public can indicate which projects best meet local needs and will receive an allocation of funding.

Council Leader Cllr Bobby McGill said: "It has been great to see bids to Community Matters coming in for a wide variety of projects looking for amounts from £800 to £10,000.

"Now that local groups have made their grant applications, we need local people to turn up to the events and tell us which projects best meet the needs of their area. As well as finding out which projects are the priorities for funding, we are looking forward to finding out what residents think about having this new role and we hope people turning up at these events will help tell us that".
