Clackmannanshire's communities are being reminded that there is still time to submit applications to Community Matters, the small grant which puts power and money into the hands of communities.

Ideas coming in so far for the £100,000 available include setting up a new group, re-decorating community-owned facilities and sports equipment.

Council Leader Cllr Bobby McGill said: "The beauty of Community Matters is that there is no idea which is too simple or too small to apply for funding, and it has been interesting to hear about the range of ideas coming in. So don't delay, and get your applications in by the deadline."

Applications can be based on geographic communities or communities of interest. The deadline is 31st December 2016.

An application form and more information are available from ClacksWeb. Anyone who needs advice on an application can contact Lesley on 01259 452012.

Decisions on the grants will be made by members of your community at events scheduled to take place at the end of January. Look out for announcements about the Decision Event in your area for your chance to help make the decisions on how funding is allocated.

Community Matters is funded by Clackmannanshire Council and the Scottish Government's Community Choices Fund.
