Tullibody Cambus & Glenochil Community Council has announced that it now has vacancies in its membership which it must fill in order to fulfil its function to represent the views of the community. In accordance with standard procedure, Clackmannanshire Council will now initiate an interim election so that the places can be filled. The first stage of an interim election invites the people of Tullibody, Cambus and Glenochil to make nominations to become Community Councillors.

Clackmannanshire Council recognises Community Councils as an important channel of communication about what matters to their community. The role community councils play in gathering, co-ordinating and articulating the priorities of their community is vital to decision-making on Council services.

Provost Tina Murphy said: " Community Councils are the most local tier of statutory representation. They bridge the gap between local authorities and communities, and help to make public bodies aware of the opinions and needs of the communities they represent. As well as their statutory function, Tullibody Cambus & Glenochil Community Council are currently playing a key role representing the interests of the community in the improvements to Tron Court and in the plans to re-develop primary school provision in the area."

The nomination process is simple - just fill out one of our nomination forms and get two people to support you. Anyone who is over the age of 16 and who appears on the electoral roll in the Community Council area can stand.

Closing date for nominations is Thursday 11 June 2015. For further information or to obtain a nomination pack, please contact the Elections Office 01259 452266 or
