The official flag has been raised over Alloa in a special ceremony to mark this year's Armed Forces Day.

Provost Tina Murphy and the Lord Lieutenant, Lt Col Johnny Stewart raised the flag, joined by representatives of RBLS Clackmannanshire, Army and Air Cadets, Dollar Combined Cadet Force and forces veterans.

A piper from the RBLS played a salute as the flag was raised.

Provost Murphy said: "I am proud to once again raise the flag over Clackmannanshire to show our continued support for service personnel, both past and present.

"In the year when we commemorate both the centenary of the start of WW1 and the 70th anniversary of D Day, it is right that we thank our forces for the tremendous contribution that they have made in the past and continue to make for our country. This year, the national Armed Forces Day event is taking place nearby in Stirling, and I also hope that many people from Clackmannanshire will be joining in the events there."
