An award from the Clackmannanshire Alliance Community Safety Fund has enabled Ochils Mountain Rescue Team to buy new first aid kits to help them care for those they rescue and assist.

Thanks to funding of £500, the rescue team has been able to replace and update 40 first aid kits to ensure they contain the latest equipment available. Ochils Mountain Rescue Team attended 26 incidents last year, and also gave support to a number of community events. During the major gas leak in the Hillfoots area, the team helped to distribute electrical cooking and heating equipment.

Committee Convenor Les Sharp said: "Ochils Mountain Rescue Team provide a valuable service to anyone who wants to take advantage of the beautiful landscape of Clackmannanshire, but who finds themselves in difficulty. They also take part in a number of community events, and these new first aid kits will help them to carry on their important work."
