Central Scotland Forest Trust teamed up with pupils from Clackmannan Primary School to plant wild flowers in the Back Woods in Clackmannan.
CSFT has been involved in a programme of work to improve the woodlands, thinning and restocking the woodland and improving the network of paths. They recently replanted over 4,000 trees with the help of pupils from Alloa Academy.
Last week saw the next stage of the project. They were helped out at the morning long planting session by Vice-convener of Enterprise and Environment, Councillor Irene Hamilton.
Councillor Hamilton said: "I was delighted to come along a few weeks ago and join in with the Alloa Academy pupils, planting trees in Back Woods. Similarly I thoroughly enjoyed being able to help out the pupils of Clackmannan Primary plant wild flowers, which will not just make the woods more attractive to all sorts of wildlife but also to the people of the area."
Primary four were chosen to assist CSFT due to the recent work they carried out in the school's Sensory Garden and playground.
The children have also been part of the 'Gardening Gang', planting bedding plants, herbs, shrubs and a variety of vegetables in the school.
Councillor Hamilton added: "It was a great experience for them to use their gardening skills elsewhere in the community."
