The people of Alloa will come together on Sunday 11th November to pay tribute to the courage and commitment of Scotland's servicemen and women.
The Remembrance Sunday Parade, will be led by Major Craig Hubbuck , Parade Commander, who will meet the official party. The Balaklava Pipes and Drums, will form up at Greenside Street car park before proceeding to the war memorial in Bedford Place. The ceremony will begin at 10.30am.
Clackmannan District Brass Band's bugler's will sound the Last Post before those gathered observe the two minutes' silence. At 11.02am the bugler will sound Reveille, followed by a prayer from the Rev. Sang Cha.
Piper Colin Graham will play a lament and Clackmannan District Brass Band will play a selection of hymns while the ceremonial Act of Remembrance is carried out by Lord Lieutenant Rt. Hon. Sir George Reid, Provost Tina Murphy, and Derek Stewart, Honorary President of Clackmannanshire and District Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland.
Wreaths will also be laid by Elaine McPherson, Chief Executive of Clackmannanshire Council, representatives from the Armed Forces, Scottish Parliament, HM Prison Glenochil, the British Red Cross, Central Scotland Police, Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service, alongside many others from various local uniformed and community organisations.
After the wreaths have been laid there will be a joint Church Service after the Remembrance Ceremony. This year the joint Church Service will be at Ludgate Parish Church and Rev. Liz Clelland and Rev. Sang Cha would be delighted to welcome you and warmly invite you to attend the service.
Provost Tina Murphy said: "On Remembrance Sunday, I would ask all of Clackmannanshire, to join with the rest of Scotland and pause for a moment to reflect and pay tribute to our servicemen and women, past and present, who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of our country, and in wars throughout the world."
