Clackmannanshire Council has reached a landmark 1000 followers on Twitter. The Council uses Twitter to send out news and urgent updates.

Councillor Bobby McGill, spokesperson for Finance and Corporate Services, added: "We are always looking to communicate with our residents in the way that suits them best. Twitter was a very useful way of reaching customers during the bad weather this winter, as it provides an instant update direct to people's smart phones. Our growing number of followers shows it's a valued method of letting residents know about the services we provide."
